Miniatures and Dollhouses Don't Have To Go Together

Here are some alternatives to the traditional dollhouse. Do you want to collect dollhouse miniatures, but simply don't have a space to display a huge mansion? Miniatures and dollhouses may seem to go together perfectly, but my recent roombox project has taught me that there are tons of creative ways to display miniatures without building a dollhouse.

Roomboxes are certainly some of the more traditional ways to accomplish a dollhouse miniature display. This is a great option if you're short on space or want to focus on a particular setting, such as the 50's diner that I created. Shadow boxes, which are shallower than room boxes, are a good solution for those who wish to hang the display on their wall. You can also display miniatures inside lamp boxes, printers boxes, and of course the traditional glass dome.

What other creative solutions do you have to offer?
