More about Room Boxes
Remember the diorama you built of the solar system in elementary school? Well now you aren’t on a deadline and a pocket change budget. The sky’s the limit! Let your creativity loose and lose yourself in inspiration with these room box ideas.
Some easy room boxes to make are simple bathrooms, living rooms, or bedrooms. Room boxes can be used to extend the décor in a room, and what better way than to make a miniature version of the room to hang in it? Add some challenge by faithfully replicating your teenager’s messy bedroom (and send a message at the same time!).
Salons, barber shops, and specialty stores make more difficult room boxes as it takes some real artisanship to create replicas that contain unique items like barber chairs or display cases. Pet stores can be fun as well!
I personally enjoyed creating an antique store room box once, using a lot of leftover pieces from sets and a hodgepodge of new furniture. It was fun to be able to make a room with both Victorian and craftsman dollhouse furniture along with tons of great dollhouse accessories! It was the antique store I could never afford to open in real life.
