Introducing Our New Dollhouse Blogger
Hi, everyone! Katie is no longer able to blog for us, so I'll be taking over the blog here at the Dollhouse Company. I look forward to sharing dollhouse tips and ideas with all of you!
My name is Megan and I've been making dollhouses for the better part of two decades. I've built six houses so far, though I keep returning to my first (a nine-room Victorian) – that one will never be quite done. As I'm sure you all can understand, it's just too tempting to keep adding furnishings. Among the newest additions to that home are cedar shingles on the roof and a beautiful new set of bookcases in the library. The classic Victorian has always been my favorite style for decorating dollhouses, although lately I've found myself being attracted to modern furnishings as well. Since I don't yet have any modern dollhouses to display the mid-century furnishings I've recently been collecting, building one is on my (admittedly long) list of dollhouse projects for the next few years.
Recently, I've begun mixing dollhouse decorating with another hobby of mine, crocheting. The result has been tiny linen chests full of crocheted blankets and beds piled high with miniature pillows. I often find the most rewarding dollhouse projects to be those that can be completed in the span of an afternoon, and I look forward to sharing new projects with all of you in the weeks and months to come!
